Percentage pay on a running truck, not a promise of miles. You take 25% of what the truck bills, every week, on a dedicated Minnesota to California lane.
What it pays
- 25% of the truck’s gross linehaul revenue on every loaded run, settled weekly. Fuel, tolls, insurance, permits, and maintenance come out of the company’s side, not yours.
- The truck typically bills $6,000 to $9,000 a week, which puts driver pay at $1,500 to $2,250 a week. A steady 50-week year at that range is roughly $75,000 to $112,000.
- Every settlement comes with the rate confirmation attached, so you can check the math on each load yourself.
- Detention and layover pay, when the broker pays it, is split on the same 25%.
The run
26-foot Freightliner M2 straight truck, 26,000 lb GVWR, liftgate. Dedicated Minnesota to California lane, roughly 1,950 miles each direction. Multiple nights out. This is not a home-daily route.
What you’ll do
- Run the Minnesota to California lane and back on a repeatable schedule.
- Pre-trip and post-trip the truck, and report defects the day you find them.
- Keep hours of service clean on the ELD. No log editing, no fudging, ever.
- Load, secure, and unload freight, including liftgate and pallet jack work at customers without a dock.
- Photograph the load at pickup and delivery, get the BOL signed, and send paperwork the same day.
- Communicate. A call about a delay two hours early is worth more to us than a perfect ETA that slips.
What we need from you
- 21 or older, with a valid driver’s license and at least two years of licensed driving.
- Box truck or straight truck experience preferred. If you have run 26-footers, hotshot, or box truck expedite, tell us where and how long.
- A clean motor vehicle record. We pull MVR and PSP. No DUI, no reckless, no suspensions in the last three years.
- A current DOT medical card, or willingness to complete a DOT physical before your first dispatch. We pay for it.
- Legal work authorization in the United States and comfort with a pre-employment drug screen.
- Willingness to be out multiple nights at a time on a long-haul lane.
No CDL required. The truck is rated at 26,000 lb GVWR, so a Class B CDL is not required to drive it. If you hold a CDL, that is a plus and it opens more equipment as we grow.
Training
Paid orientation, and we train on the parts most drivers were never taught properly: ELD and hours of service, load securement and weight distribution, liftgate and pallet jack handling, DOT inspection readiness, and how to read a rate confirmation so you know what the load paid. If you can drive safely and you want to learn the freight side, we will teach it.
